Are you ready to start writing your own stories?
Writers of all levels are invited to explore memoir writing with author and creative writing instructor Nancy Resler from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Pence Gallery, 212 D St. in downtown Davis.
Writing stories of specific time and place from one’s own perspective can be revealing and rewarding. Visual and verbal exercises will encourage writers to look at new ways of telling one’s story.
Resler will help participants explore identity, form, language, memory and imagination. There will be a brief discussion of the possibilities and perils of publishing. Attendees will receive handouts and have opportunities to ask questions.
Participants who are creating new work or refining the pieces they have begun will receive feedback in a positive and supportive environment.
Resler is writing instructor and creative coach who launched and taught creative writing classes for 10 years at UC Davis Extension. Her acclaimed memoir, “The Last Protégée,” was published this year by eRebel Publishing.
The workshop fee is $40, payable by PayPal to TidelineArts@gmail.com or by personal check or cash. Checks must be received one week in advance of the workshop and mailed to Tideline Arts, 1817 Laurel Lane, West Sacramento, CA 95691.
